Repetition is where factory production wins

Building one house in steel and building forty are very different propositions. With one, the design effort is spread across a single unit. With forty, the same panel runs through the line again and again, and every efficiency compounds.

Conventional construction does not work this way. A mason builds the fortieth wall at roughly the speed of the first. A roll-forming line does not — once the design is set, output is limited by the line, not by how many skilled trades you can find and keep on site.

Consistency across every unit

On a repeated housing project the risk is drift: unit one and unit forty slowly stop matching. Because every section is cut on the same line to the same tolerance, a steel framed scheme does not drift. The fortieth frame is the same frame as the first, which matters for the finishing trades that follow and for anyone inspecting the scheme afterwards.

Built for a coastal climate

Chennai is a coastal city, and coastal air is harder on steel than inland air is. Galvanised coating is specified according to where a building will actually stand rather than applied uniformly, and that is a decision made at design stage rather than corrected later with paint.

The wall build-up matters here too. An insulated cavity inside the frame does more for comfort in a hot, humid climate than any amount of external treatment, and it is built into the structure rather than added to it.
